WVRAA in Capiz

There many athletes, couches, and governments officials come here in Capiz, from the other provinces in the whole Region VI.The Students and all people of Capiz are happy to welcome all of them in this event. (WVRAA) Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association, The province of Capiz is the host of this Meet this March 15-21, 2009. Gov. Victor A. Tanco urges Capizeños to support this prestigious event which puts the province in the regional limelight. Athletes and delegation officials coming from six provinces in Western Visayas will participate in the week-long sports and cultural competition on March 15-21, 2009 at Villareal Stadium, Roxas City.   Today, most of us wanted to be on go with the flow of our environment. There are many people that explore his/her self, like use computer for there study cell phone to text there love ones. But there are people that illiterate to ah machine, but somehow if you can see a lot of children here in the Philippines that very ABSADU did not thrift their own. As we can see that even the BAKIRO now there are cell phones to text. But they don’t know that cell phones your life makes nothing. And they don’t know that there are many people they needs their helps. Here in DUMARAO there a lot of project that they purposed of Mayor Beboy Benjamin. Like fish cage, water dam for the source of water in the whole of the Dumarao Plaza.

Tanco hails from the town of Dumarao

GOVERNOR Vic Arancillo Tanco hails from the town of Dumarao in the Second Congressional District of Capiz and served as four-term mayor for 18 years from 1980 to 1998. Previous to this, he had been elected councilor in 1971 ranking number one, that to date sums up 36 years of public service in Capiz. Educated at the University of the Philippines in Diliman with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration, he is well heeled in local government administration. Since the institution more than a century ago of civil government by the Americans of in Capiz on April 11, 1901, he became the 20th governor of the province, running unopposed last May 14, 2007. He had served as vice governor under then Governor Bermejo for nine years since 1998. Roxas City, Dumarao cleanest, greenest in WV

ROXAS CITY - Don’t be surprised if you see city officials - particularly Mayor Antonio del Rosario - grinning from ear to ear these days. 

For the third time, this city of more than 150 people was adjudged the cleanest and greenest component city in Western Visayas in the Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligiran program of the Office of the President, besting Sagay City (2nd) and Victoria City (3rd), both in Negros Occidental. 

The Dumarao town in Capiz was voted first for Category A municipalities. Other two winners in this category are Miag-ao in Iloilo (2nd) and Kalibo, the capital town of Aklan (3rd). 

This was the second time that Dumarao topped the tilt. Last year, it also won under its category. 

Both Mayor Antonio del Rosario of Roxas City and Heracleo Benjamin of Dumarao expressed elation over the feat. 

“I am happy that we have maintained the No. 1 ranking in the region for three consecutive years. We owe this to the support and cooperation of the people and other sectors of the city,” the mayor declared.  (more…)

Toward the end of my first year of medical school, I was fortunate enough to be awarded an American Medical Association (AMA/LLUSM chapter) scholarship. This helped me travel to the Philippines through the Students for International Mission Service (SIMS) program to the Seventh-day Adventist-run Bacolod Sanitarium and Hospital. This facility is located in the port of Bacolod, in the prince of Negros Occidental on the island of Negros in the Philippines.
